One From the Vault: Accept - "Fast as a Shark"

I have always believed that Accept should have been bigger than they were.

They were so underrated, it should have been a crime. Sadly, I think it came down to Udo just not being a music video friendly front man, despite having a great set of pipes.

From the twin-flying V dual guitars to the kick-you-in-the-nuts rhythm they were, musically, phenomenal.

This song just freaking rocks...thanks for posting it!

I agree, Ed, and after interviewing Wolf a few months ago and Udo when he released Mastercutor, my opinion of the matter is the split sanctions have different visions and differnt willingness for accommodation that has kept the rift. I am very proud of what Accept has done on the new album and this past tour was really great, particularly the happy facades from all five players...very infectious and those guys are the masters of the rock god poses...when they hit "Fast as a Shark" in the set, I myself just went nuts. Absolutely a great song and one of the all-time best metal tunes ever.

Restless and Wild was pretty much the only album I listened to when mowing the grass back in the day. Funny how Fast As A Shark makes me think of my first Walkman and the simple satisfaction of getting a mundane chore finished.

Ha!!! You know my what lawn mowing cassette tape was on the Walkman back in the day? Deepest Purple. I cut shave an extra 10 minutes off the job by keeping that tape going, much like Restless and wild for yourself. When I raked leaves, though, it was Peace Sells, hands-down...I always think of Peace Sells when I walk around my folks' property and see myself tearing up the leaves to "Devil's Island."
