Whattya Listenin' to Wednesday - 2/2/11

Greetings, friends, a happy, cold and white Wednesday to ya.

Wherever you may be, hope you're either warm or not swimming in complete anarchy. If you preach anarchy while standing in line for the show, do have a look at Egypt and see if that's really what you're looking for. Most who yell about anarchy are posers (and I say this from my own teenaged experience), so consider the consequences when a real uprising amasses. Not a pretty sight, is it?

Enough of that, right? Keep it dialed here at The Metal Minute for more goodies to come. We're dishing 'em up like jimmies on a hot fudge sundae...

Fred-It's a fantastic piece of textured drone. I heard three great new releases in January and that was one of them. The latest from Beehoover and the Grand Astoria are the others.

I've read Mark's review of the new Earth and mine will be here shortly. I agree with Mark that Dylan Carlson's detail to what is the same schism of his recent work beginning with Hex is even more stark and stunning now, particularly with the string elements. As you'll see, I Picked Earth for Album of the Month.

Hmm, Jeff, we're both in the universe with Wilson AND Donovan, tres cool...

cjk, I love My Dying Bride and I have some of their others off the shelf to play shortly...I think those guys and Opeth DEFINE what Goth metal is and, with Katatonia, probably understand that grace and power are synonymous in that style

Anon, I don't know why I'm laughing so hard, but I am.

Dpth, I'm sure you're having fun sticking to your alphabetized listening project...I think I lasted until the mid-B's then stopped, since just that long took months, heh
