Whattya Listenin' to Wednesday - 4/13/11

Howdy-do, readers, and hails from the sopping wet east coast. The yard looks like a toilet bowl in dire need of a flush from all this rain, though I will never complain in light of Japan and all the countries who have suffered tsunami and hurricane ravage. Those are always humbling reminders that certain nuisances of the weather may be annoying as hell, but in the end we should always be thankful when Nature opens the sun later and dries it all up so we can go on with our lives. Not everybody's so fortunate.

Last week I had the pleasure of chatting with Dez Fafara of Devildriver for Noisecreep and I'd say my favorite points of our conversation were random sidebars about our families and current movie picks. Dez sent me after the True Grit remake and I returned the favor with a recommendation of Let Me In. Good times. The interview is currently live at Noisecreep.com in their interview section. Get some! A special thanks to Carlos at Noisecreep for the assignment.

Stay tuned for more madness coming up this week here at The Metal Minute!

Dang, brutha, you were right there as I posted, ha!!! Glad to see you as always and a freakin' awesome playlist, dude. I used to have that Weird Al album on vinyl. Shame he's been treated as a novelty. He really is a clever guy. Have fun on your APC trip. They're hitting the road anytime now.

And with the weather, yeah, it's annoying to empty buckets of overfill despite having a sump pump and yeah, it hits you with 10 extra minutes of commuting, and yeah, your kids drive you nuts when they can't get out, but if all that means we still have roofs over our heads, then it's a win.

Ray, thanks for the kudos for my list. i've been making a conscious effort to listen to all of my music, non-alphabetically! some weeks are better than others for variety.

i tried what DPTH is doing about 7 years ago and about drove myself nuts because by the time i got to Dark Tranquillity i went on a Death, Opeth, Lamb of God, Sentenced, etc. spree because it had taken me forever to get to the D's.

although i'm not the biggest Weird Al fan i've always been a fan of listening to artists interpret other artist's songs (including parodies).

I told Dpth I did that before when this blog started out with a CD Shelf Cleanup exercise where I listened to everything in succession and posted my results as a keeper or tosser. I only got to the Bs it was that many, lol...
