Spins of the Minute - 1/10/13

Formerly Whattya Listenin' to Wednesday, I've opted for a change-up to the playlist feature here at the site, now known as Spins of the Minute.  This segment will appear in more random increments instead of on a routine weekly basis as before.

For those of you who feel like sharing your playlists, cozy up and drop 'em in the comments bucket.  The site traffic has spiked by 30% in the past week, so I know there's even more of you out there reading.   As always, I thank you all, newcomers and mainstayers.  2013 is off to positive start here at The Metal Minute and your support is all the reason.

The vast majority of my listening experience over the last eight months has been setting my iPod to random. But I did take a few opportunities to listen to albums all the way through in the last few weeks.

In Mourning – The Weight of Oceans
Pallbearer – Sorrow and Extinction
A Life Once Lost – Ecstatic Trance
Devin Townsend Band – Epicloud
Lynch Mob – Sound Mountain Sessions
Isis – Temporal
Mogwai – A Wrenched Virile Lore
Led Zeppelin – Celebration Day
Buddy Guy – Live at Legends

Oxes – various live videos on YouTube
Accept – various live videos on YouTube

Killing Lincoln – Bill O’Reilly

Hey, man! So good to hear from you, been awhile. Cool we're both on the Mogwai trip. That remix by Zombi is freaking awesome. Reminds me of something that could've fit in Coscarelli or Fulci flick.

to be honest i'm not a huge fan of remixes. however, my 11 yr old son is now showing an interest in music. like most young folks he's into pop music and minecraft parodies, but he seems to like remixed material. so it was interesting to get a positive response out of him from the Mogwai remixes. he really likes the Klad Hest remix of "Rano Pano".

Yeah, remix projects are hit or miss with me. This one has both in my opinion, but a lot of it is interesting. At least your lad's digging and probing into music, amen to that.
